If you follow my Up Close series, you know I collect vintage cookbooks, but I also have a spot in my heart for some of the really fascinating contemporary cookbooks, .   David Lebovitz is one of the best: a great cook and pastry chef, a talented writer, a skilled photographer. If you haven't read his My Paris Kitchen, do.(It's worth checking out his piece on how the book came together, book offers more than just (many) tantalizing recipes: it's heaped with stories of real life in Paris—scenes from charcuterie stands and olive shops, doctor's offices Author: Maggie Hoffman.

William Sonoma Bride and Groom Entertaining Cookbook: Good Housekeeping Low-Fat Recipes & Tips: Cooking Light . My Favorite Cookbooks Overall champion: “Dinner, Changing the Game” Favorite recipe: Vietnamese Caramel Salmon This cookbook has such an incredible variety of recipes. The chapters are divided into protein types (poultry, shellfish, tofu, eggs, beans etc.) as well as having chapters for pasta and vegetarian dishes.

My Top 5 Favorite Cookbooks Trim Healthy Mama by Pearl Barrett & Serene Allison. This is not just a diet book but is a book FULL of great recipes to go along with the diet/lifestyle advice! The recipes are fairly simple, nothing crazy and since the book was written by mom’s of many most of these recipes will work for big families. My current favorite is the College Vegan Cookbook—I’m a vegetarian, and the cookbook has TONS of recipes I never even would have thought to look for!! They serve as excellent base recipes, like they’re a bit bland if you follow the recipe exactly, but you can add extra spices and stuff and make the recipes your own which I really like:).
